The theme reminds me of the Chronicles of Amber which I loved. This book takes it even further with its clear yet imagination-provoking writing. I hope we get the next volume soon!

I absolutely LOVED this story! It's a truly wonderful blend of fantasy and science fiction that transported me to a magical, futuristic version of Ireland, one I did not wish to leave but alas, the book came to an end, leaving me little choice but to turn back to page one and begin reading again. Featuring a fast-moving plot, one that weaves together a completely mad (if not inspired) combination of human-hybrid aliens, nature-spirits, dastardly outer-space villains and a potion-brewing Sasquatch, the story's heart and soul is ultimately centered upon the journey of its main character, 13 year old, Willa Hillicrissing, a spirited girl who chooses to undergo an initiation into a much larger understanding of the nature of Reality, one that carries with it great challenges, profound lessons and marvelous happenings. Darryl Anka's woven quite a wondrous yarn...so stoke a fire, make a nice hot cup of tea, kick back in a comfy chair, open to page one and teleport yourself into a wondrous, alternate reality.
